It’s a new decade and we’re recapping the highlights of everything we’ve attended and accomplished throughout 2019! From charity gumbo tournaments, out-of-this-world galas, plenty of grand openings and SO much more, Proffitt PR was there to capture, network, and promote the community we live for! 1/8/19 – We kicked off 2019 with a check presentation from Café Thirty – A to Caring & Sharing of South Walton for an astounding $26,000 raised during their Annual Christmas Charity Ball that we helped coordinate December 2018.
1/10/19 – We introduced a brand new event to The Henderson called Art Wave. This event featured various local artists who have their artwork displayed throughout the resort. The public enjoyed craft cocktails, decadent hors d’oeuvres, and had the exclusive opportunity to mingle with the talented artists. This sophisticated bazaar was one of a kind and benefited the South Walton Artificial Reef Association.
1/14/19 – Y’all truly bring out the BEST in us! We were so blessed to be named the Best Public Relations Firm for the 6th year in a row and Best Event Planner for the 4th year in a row by the readers of VIP Destin Magazine!
1/15/19 – What a VIEW! We took in the sights at the January FPRA Luncheon hosted by The Vue on 30A while listening to Corey Dobrindia, Public Information Officer for the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
1/18/19 – 30A Songwriters Festival is one of our favorite events that we look forward to each year! Hopping around South Walton and 30A supporting local venues and artists alongside friends and family is simply perfection. Bravo to the Cultural Arts Alliance for bringing something so wonderful to our community!
1/22/19 – Welcome to the family! First City Bank of Florida joins the #PPR Client List!
1/23/19 – Puppies, pigs, and llamas, OH MY! As a team, our heart is to give back so in 2019 we decided to dedicate a portion of our time each month to give back to the community who consistently supports and lifts us up. Titled, Hustle with Heart, this series would be an opportunity for PPR to go out and volunteer with various local non-profits or organizations. To kick things off, we spent the day at Alaqua Animal Refuge helping out in any way possible! {Puppie snuggles were an added bonus!}
1/24/19 – Our inaugural Art Wave event at The Henderson was a SUCCESS! We were pleased to present the South Walton Artificial Reef Association with a check for $7,768.20.
1/24/19 – In 2018, Jessica was chosen to be an Honorary Commander for the Hurlburt Air Force Base. One of the perks was being able to experience first-hand what it was like on a direct-action night mission. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!
1/31/19 – We Hit the Ground(s) Running with the Young Professionals of Walton County (YPWC) for their first event at Amavida Coffee‘s roaster in Santa Rosa Beach. YPWC is near and dear to our hearts as Jessica reinvented the program just one year ago.
1/31/19 – Jessica attended the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) Dinner & Awards Banquet at The Henderson to see some our fabulous clients be awarded with honors of distinction.

2/1/19 – Cheers to another year! We celebrated another year with the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce at their Annual Gala. Jessica was also recognized as the Young Professional of the Year for 2018!
2/1/19 – We headed to Fort Walton Beach for the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce Breakfast to promote First City Bank’s 8th Annual Gumbo Throwdown.
2/6/19 – We left feeling inspired after hearing from Colonel Brian Laidlaw of Tyndall AFB at the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce Power of Business Luncheon at Tops’l Beach & Racquet Resort
2/6/19 – Jessica got a sneak peek of the plans for Rosemary Beach’s newest resort, Kaiya, during their Outstanding in The Field Dinner located right on the beach. The culinary extravaganza was nothing short of spectacular!
2/8 – 2/10/19 – Happy Birthday to our favorite girl, Hannah Martin! This year’s party titled “La Lumiere – Party of the Gods” was out-of-this-world! We partied with the gods all night long to help celebrate Hannah and raise money for South Walton Academy, Special Olympics – South Walton, and Westonwood Ranch.
2/12/19 – YUM! We love a good photoshoot where we can eat the props afterwards. Swell Pops had a photoshoot with Alissa Aryn Commercial at our office this month to get some new shots of those sweet pops!
2/19/19 – Clear! We attended ER for PR at the Hyatt Place with the Northwest Florida Coast Chapter of FPRA to brush up on our PR skillset!
2/21/19 – Oysters, champagne and Cathead Vodka cocktails? Yes please! The VIP kick-off party for 30A Wine Festival with Garden & Gun Magazine at Alys Beach did not disappoint!
2/21/19 – We joined Mike Huckabee at The Henderson to raise money for the Rocky Bayou Christian School during their first Blue & White Gala raising thousands of dollars for the school.
2/27/19 – We Hustled with Heart at Food For Thought Outreach packing backpacks for over 1,000 kids in need for local schools.
2/28/19 – We pampered the area’s leading influencers to experience the lavish Salamander Spa at The Henderson while also enjoying sushi, champagne, and mini treatments throughout the evening. We loved coordinating and executing this custom experience from start to finish.

3/1/19 – We sipped and savored all night long at the Taste of the Race event hosted by the Seaside School as a part of their Half Marathon & 5k weekend! Proffitt PR is a proud media sponsor of the event each year.
3/3/19 – Off to the races! As a team we ran in the Seaside School Half Marathon & 5k. Talk about Hustle with Heart!
3/6/19 – There was a slight chill to this Walton Area Chamber of Commerce day but we had the picture perfect luncheon with a fabulous speaker from Gulf Power Company at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort!
3/7/19 – Let the Good Times Roll! We had a blast putting First City Bank’s 8th Annual Gumbo Throwdown where the area’s leading restaurants showed out to compete for the title of “Best Gumbo on the Emerald Coast.”
3/8/19 – We laced up our high heels and headed to Red Fish Taco for Habitat for Humanity’s Annual Hard Hats & High Heels event! Proffitt PR is an esteemed media sponsor of this event each year.
3/23/19 – We got all dressed up to celebrate being named as the Best Public Relations Firm and Best Event Planning Firm at the VIP Destin Black Tie Ball at the Hilton Sandestin.
3/24/19 – Research and development! PPR hit the road to Atlanta for some “market research” to see how they throw a Bloody Mary Festival. We took in the sights and met up with some old friends along the way who helped us discover new ideas that we could implement into our upcoming Bloody Mary Fest at The Market Shops.
3/26/19 – For March’s Hustle with Heart, we teamed up with The Sonder Project to help paint a house that they were rebuilding for a mother and her two sons after they lost everything to Hurricane Michael.
3/27/19 – We mixed and mingled with the area’s best wedding vendors during Rowland Publishing Wedding’s Cover Reveal Party at The Henderson. We love a helping coordinate a glorious collaboration such as this!
3/28/19 – Jessica had the honor to attend the most magical and meaningful dinner hosted by Dr. Hayes of Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast and his beautiful wife! A four course dinner by James Beard Foundation’s award winning Chef Sue Zemanick {recently featured on Bravo’s Top Chef x 2} out of NOLA paired with the perfect wines! Best part? Every bit of the evening benefited the amazing Food For Thought Outreach Inc.
3/31/19 – A cause close to our hearts. We rallied our clients together to donate items to Boshamps BoJamz Benefit raising money for The Wright Fight for Cystic Fibrosis.

4/10/19 – We were WOW’ed by the entrepreneurial spirit of our youth at the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Red Fish Taco! Jessica had the honor to judge alongside fellow Chamber board members at this Shark Tank style event where South Walton, Freeport and Walton High School students battled for the best business idea. Congrats to SWGS for taking home the award!

5/3/19 – To celebrate SIX YEARS of outstanding business, Coyote Ugly Saloon hosted an 80s themed party with an open bar, music by DJ Vladi, and giveaways, with funds benefitting Anchorage Children’s Home. We were honored to be hired by boss babe, Joanna Olson to help celebrate this momentous occasion.
5/3/19 – We worked on our fitness at The Market Shops during their Free Fitness on the Lawn series, featuring classes by Orangetheory Fitness and Pure Barre.
5/5/19 – Golfing for a cause at Kelly Plantation! On Cinco de Mayo we played 18 holes in the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center’s first annual Charity Golf Tournament.
5/6/19 – When you live in paradise, it makes sense to have seven days in honor of National Tourism Week, hosted by Visit South Walton, with a kickoff luncheon at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa.
5/7/19 – Henderson loves their locals and celebrated them as they launched an Exclusive Annual Spa & Fitness Membership for the Salamander Spa.

5/16/19 – Digital Graffit Festival award winners projected their art onto Galati Yachts during Emerald Coast Magazine’s Pop Up Party, which featured lavender champagne from The Henderson, light bites by Signature Catering of 30A, live music, and priceless bay views.

5/19 – 5/21/19 – Proffitt PR has honored to coordinate Tallahassee’s Florida Sports Foundation’s largest event of the year, their Annual Summit. One hundred of the state’s leading sports facilitators gathered for two days at The Henderson for continuing education, growth, networking, a keynote luncheon with Tommy Bowden, and more!
5/22/19 – Happy Birthday, Beachworx! Proffitt PR was proud to attend and celebrate their one-year anniversary party.
5/23/19 – No one can resist a sunset happy hour, especially when it’s at The Henderson! The residents inside the gates of Kelly Plantation, Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club, and Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort socialized over light bites and refreshing drinks.
5/29/19 – The Proffitt PR gals headed north of the bay and got to know some furry {and not so furry} forest friends. Every month in 2019 we Hustled with Heart, and in May we volunteered at the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center!
5/31/19 – It sure was a sweet Sunday, because we raised $3,000 for The Sonder Project during Sweet Sunday: A Mother’s Day Market at The Henderson!
5/31/19 – With help from our wonderful community, we were able to raise $28,595 at The Joel Iral Celebration of Life Fundraiser that we had recently hosted at Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

6/13/19 – We had a doggone good time at the Young Professionals of Walton County’s Bow Wow Seafood Boil at Dog-Harmony, sponsored by Whole Life Fitness, LLC, with a bountiful seafood boil provided by Grayton Beer Brewpub, and of course cold brews courtesy of Grayton Beer Company.
6/17/19 – The Hustle with Heart continued in June at Westonwood Ranch, where we learned all about the amazing facility and the beautiful family that brought it to life, while we painted and polished the grounds in preparation for their opening!

6/26/19 – Pop the bubbly! Bracken Law hosted the Grand Opening of his second office on 30A! Guests sipped cold brews from Idyll Hounds Brewing Company, snacked on hors d’oeuvres by Signature Catering of 30A, listened to live music by Matt Lyons, and celebrated the evening with a rooftop toast!

10/20/19 – Pumpkin Spice and everything nice! We hosted a fall-themed Sweet Sunday titled “Pumpkins & Primrose” at The Henderson. Over 1,000 people flocked to resort to get their fall on at the elevated farmers market featuring a festive photo booth, local vendors, fall food and drinks, and more!
10/24/19 – We sipped and savored at The Taylor Haugen Foundation’s 10th Annual Savor the Season with some of our favorite client friends {The Henderson & Restaurant Paradis} It was a beautiful evening at the Emerald Grande for a cause that is close to our hearts! Cheers to 10 years!

11/6/19 – Home of the free because of the BRAVE! We were reminded how BLESSED we are to live in this country and how well protected we are by our military at the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce Power of Business Luncheon at Legendary Marine sponsored by A Superior Air Conditioning Company.
11/7/19 – BEST night with the BEST people topped off with GREAT food and GREAT beer all for an AMAZING cause – South Walton Academy. Y’all don’t want to miss the next Beer Dinner at Back Beach Barbecue with Oyster City Brewing Company!
11/9/19 – It was a perfect day to sip and stroll around the pool at The Henderson for Destin Crafted benefiting Children in Crisis, Inc. Florida! There was live music by one of our favorites, Boukou Groove, along with plenty of craft brews, spirits, and local eats to go around.

11/12/19 – For November’s Hustle with Heart, we joined the Junior League of the Emerald Coast for their Annual Child Clothing Project at Target! Together they provide brand-new clothing for over 400 children from Okaloosa and Walton County elementary schools. We LOVED helping these deserving kiddos pick out everything they need from sneakers and jackets to socks and jeans.

11/13/19 – Now THIS is what you call a chef’s tasting! We were served EVERY single dish on the Beach Walk Cafe at Henderson Park Inn menu with some of the best company (and views!) in town!

12/3/19 – Twas a #GivingTuesday indeed! We celebrated Costa Enterprises – McDonald’s donation of $100,000 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida to build the McPlayroom at the Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart! We snipped the ribbon and made it official with the Greater Pensacola Chamber, Pensacola’s Mayor, Grover Robinson, Sacred Heart’s President, Will Condon, and president of RMHC, Judy Burns and the community!
12/3/19 – We channeled our inner Bob Ross at Beach & Brew on 30A for their Holiday Brush, Brews and Black Bear event benefiting the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County. While sipping on cold brews and frosè Maxine Orange Bern taught all of us how to channel or inner creative to make unique mixed media Christmas angels! Black Bear Bread Co. supplied the bear claws for a sweet holiday treat to keep our spirits high.

12/10/19 – We headed over the bridge for the FIRST EVER NICEVILLE FPRA Northwest Florida Coast Chapter Luncheon held at The Wharf850 sponsored by Bay Life! We got to hear from the fabulous {and hilarious} Shantelle Dedicke from the Frances Roy Agency about what it takes to start a podcast.
12/12/19 – We got into the holiday spirit with our friends from The Henderson and hen at the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event hosted by Slick Lips Seafood & Oyster House! The rain cleared just in time for us to mix and mingle with our community partners before we all take a break for the holidays.
12/19/19 – What a STEP in the right direction! The Step One Automotive Group Christmas Party was the perfect event to end 2019 with a BANG!
12/28/19 – Ending the decade with a bang with girl’s night out! To celebrate the holidays, we spent an evening galavanting on 30A, beginning with cocktails at Pescado followed by a decadent three course meal at Restaurant Paradis! Cheers to a successful 2020!
