The Henderson, a Salamander Resort, will host a three-day Wellness Weekend on Friday-Sunday, February 14-16, 2020 showcasing a myriad of fitness classes, healthy culinary experiences, activities and keynote speakers including world-renowned Peloton instructor and seasoned fitness professional, Denis Morton.
The Wellness Weekend was created to focus on healthy living for the mind, body, and soul. In addition to Morton, guests can expect to hear from other wellness and life coaches including Natalie Leon and Michael J. Russ. Throughout the entire weekend, attendees will take part in various fitness classes, listen to notable speakers, interact with wellness industry vendors, and much more.
On Friday, February 14, The Henderson will host a welcome reception that includes a yoga and meditation class with Natalie Leon, a local fitness coach with over 20 years of experience and author of Loving Me. The evening will culminate with a welcome cocktail hour, dinner, and conclude with keynote speaker, Michael J. Russ. Russ is an international bestselling author of Zero Adversity, as well as a transformational speaker who will share the concepts and processes anyone can apply to take control of their thoughts, feelings, and responses to life.
Saturday will offer guests the opportunity to take part in various yoga, cycle, paddle board, and other fitness classes depending on their activity levels led by The Henderson’s in-house instructors and fitness professionals. Following the morning workout, keynote speaker Natalie Leon will discuss how mindful exercise, proper nutrition and a connection to self-worth will allow people to live their lives to their fullest potential.
“I’m so excited to share my powerful message at the Wellness Weekend on how looking good is a side-effect of feeling good and how to finally create a lifestyle you love to live,” Leon said. “I want people to walk away inspired with new insights, practical tools, and a brand-new way of seeing themselves from a place of love. You can be healthy, happy and love all of you!”
Saturday afternoon will feature a Wellness Showcase for attendees to peruse with leading wellness vendors from around the country. The Salamander Spa will also offer guests mini treatments, including chair massages and facial treatments, to promote healthy treatment of body and skin during the exhibit. The day will conclude with a Chef’s Dinner from Executive Chef Gary Palm, who will serve healthy cuisine and international creations. He will educate guests on the importance of fresh ingredients and the benefits they have for leading a healthy lifestyle.
On Sunday, the weekend will conclude with a keynote speech from Denis Morton. Morton brings over 15 years of fitness leadership with Peloton along with an extensive athletic history ranging from college football to aerial acrobatics. He will discuss his experience, motivations, and inspiration behind helping people explore their own abilities with his guidance and motivation. Balancing humor and inspiration, he rejoices in guiding others to seek and celebrate the surprise inside themselves.
“Connecting with Denis is a true honor,” said David Mars, general manager of The Henderson. “The inspiration and encouragement he provides to his followers and health enthusiasts alike is second to none. I am confident that the weekend will provide our attendees with the motivation and tools to map out a well-balanced and sustainable lifestyle… Mind, Body, and Spirit.”
Sunday will end with a final Pure Barre class taught by local instructors followed by a movement and stretch class taught by Denis Morton on the grand lawn.
