Local resident and business owner, Arielle Showalter, is pleased to announce the grand opening of South Walton’s newest luxe pet grooming salon, Posh Pups, located at 557 Mack Bayou Rd.
Showalter, 27, was born and raised in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and has been in the dog grooming business since 2012. Ever since she was young, Showalter knew she wanted to work with animals, especially dogs. She took this passion and started working at her family’s local groom shop after pursuing an education in grooming. It was here she realized she wanted to branch out and create a business that is entirely her own and where she can have full creative control. Through the support and encouragement from her family and friends, Showalter and her husband, Ellis, a local firefighter and EMT, decided to create Posh Pups Grooming Salon.
“No matter what career path I chose, it was always my dream growing up to be an entrepreneur,” Arielle said. “Working for yourself is an amazing feeling and I would encourage anyone that is able to make it happen, to go for it.”
On Thursday, February 6, Posh Pups will host their grand opening celebration kicking off with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce to officially welcome the new business to the area. From 4-6 p.m., the community is invited to enjoy complimentary light bites from JC’s Gourmet, craft brews from Grayton Beer Company, ice cream cake from Ben & Jerry’s, photography by Epic Photo Co., live music by Reese Branton, balloon décor by Mingle, giveaways and more. Guests are also welcome to bring their dogs to explore the new facility, enjoy complimentary treats from 30A Barks, and book a future appointment.
Posh Pups will cater to all breeds, sizes, and ages of dogs. The newly built, 1,000-square foot building with an adorable pink door offers a fresh, modern space that is unlike any other pet groomer in the area. Posh Pups will offer a range of services including teeth brushing, specialty shampoos, nail trims, traditional haircuts, and baths. The salon also offers its customers pick up and drop off services for their dogs, as well as bows and accessories to finish off their new look.
Arielle is passionate about delivering the highest quality of grooming and customer service to her clients. She strives to transform each dog into the best version of itself and showcase their unique personality through styling. Her and her husband hope to grow their business with additional locations along the Emerald Coast in the coming years.
“Ensuring I give the best quality of grooming possible is the most important thing to me,” Arielle said. “Having all of my customers, dogs and humans alike, go home happy is my ultimate goal of this business.”
