Niceville Realtor® Installed As District 9 Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

SANTA ROSA BEACH, FLA., (February 8, 2018) – Cathy Alley, sales associate with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty in Niceville, has been installed as District 9 vice president of Florida Realtors®, the state’s largest professional association. She will serve her fellow professionals in District 9, which encompasses Bay, Gulf, Franklin, Walton, Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties. Alley is a member of the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors®.

“The biggest issue in our district is a shortage of inventory, leading to rising prices,” says Alley, who is active in residential brokerage. “Because much of our market is driven by the military, there is also a shortage of rentals. However, many new subdivisions are now underway that will give buyers a wider selection of homes.”

A leader in regional and state real estate organizations, Alley was 2016 president of the Emerald Coast association, and has served in several other leadership positions.  She has been a director of the state association, and a committee and forum member for Florida Realtors as well. “I really enjoy being able to mentor younger professionals coming into the real estate business,” she adds.  “That is so important to the future of our industry.”

Alley says there have been many touching “magic” moments in her real estate career. “About 15 years ago, I was helping a woman in the Air Force who had lost her son to suicide,” she says. “We found a home that she wanted, but she started crying when we walked in because it had a piano – the instrument her son had played.  Ultimately, she decided to purchase the home and lived there until she retired from the military.”

As district vice president for the state association, Alley will focus on enhancing Florida Realtors’ advocacy, education and support programs for real estate professionals. “As Realtors, we do so much more for families than just open a door,” she says. “Our association is a powerful advocate for homeowners, and every day our members strive to change the lives of Floridians for the better.”
