The Walton Area Chamber of Commerce announces upcoming events for the Month of May: First Friday Breakfast on May 5, Power of Business Luncheon on May 10, South Business After Hours on May 16 and North Business After Hours on May 23. The First Friday Breakfast will be held in DeFuniak Springs and is sponsored by Chautauqua Healthcare Services. The Power of Business Luncheon will be held in Miramar Beach and is sponsored by Visit South Walton. The South Business After Hours will be held in Watersound and is sponsored by Panhandle Getaways and The Shops at the Hub. The North Business After Hours will be held in DeFuniak Springs and is sponsored by the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center and CHELCO with drinks sponsored by Grayton Beer Company and food sponsored by Bogey’s Restaurant.
In honor of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, the President and CEO of United Way of Okaloosa and Walton counties, Rick Owen, and the Vice President of Clinical Services at Chautauqua Healthcare Services, Tia Schjott, will be discussing how to address mental health in the workplace.

The Power of Business Luncheon program, titled “The Navigator: Presenting the latest trends, challenges and opportunities in tourism marketing”, will be presented by the Vice President of New Business Development and Hospitality at Miles Partnership, Scott Bacon. Miles Partnership markets destinations and hospitality businesses by creating forward-thinking online, mobile, email and print content marketing solutions.

Both Business After Hours events will feature after hours networking and giveaways. Attendees will receive one complimentary beverage and light hors d’oeuvres.
The First Friday Breakfast, on May 5, will be hosted at Best Western; 2343 US-331, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Cost to attend First Friday Breakfast is $10 for members and $15 for prospective members.

The Power of Business Luncheon, on May 10, will be hosted at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in the Coastal Ballroom; 4000 Sandestin Blvd S, Miramar Beach, FL 32550, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Cost to attend Power of Business Luncheon is $25 for members and $35 for prospective members.

The South Business After Hours, on May 16, will be hosted at the Shops at the Hub; 7000 East County Highway 30A, Watersound, FL 32413, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The North Business After Hours, on May 23, will be hosted at the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center; 336 College Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Business After Hours events are free for members and $10 for prospective members.
