30A Foam Fest, presented by Idyll Hound Proper and 30Avenue, will make its debut at 30Avenue on Saturday, May 13 from 2-6 p.m. with proceeds from the inaugural event benefiting Food for Thought Outreach.
Guests are invited to the coastal shopping center to enjoy an afternoon filled with unlimited sips of craft beer, food, live music, activities and much more. Breweries from across the southeast, including Alga Beer Co., Beach Camp Brewing Company, Emerald Republic, Grayton Beer Company, Idyll Hounds Brewing Company, Lawless Coast Brewing, Odd Pelican Brewing Company, Perfect Plain, Urban South, and many more, will showcase and pour their unique beers during the festival, sponsored by Hop Sponsor, Step One Automotive Group. Ticket holders will receive a custom beer mug upon entry, courtesy of 30A Luxury Vacations, that they are able to refill throughout the afternoon, sampling various beers from those in attendance. There will also be food available for purchase from various 30Avenue restaurants, including Aja Elevated Kitchen, amici 30A Italian Kitchen, amigos 30A Mexican Kitchen, Goatfeathers and 30Avenue’s eatery, Idyll Hound Proper.
There will be live music on the main stage throughout the event, kicking off with opening act, Boukou Groove, followed by the popular, New Orleans-based band, Flow Tribe. Founded in 2004, Flow Tribe was created in the wake of Hurricane Katrina’s destruction with the mission to bring the next generation of the New Orleans’ sound of unstoppable rhythm and passion to the world, according to their website. Over the next 15 years, Flow Tribe performed over 120 shows a year crossing the country multiple times from the biggest festival stages to freak shows. They are six seasoned blue-collar musicians who carry on the road dog tradition of following the highway to wherever the next crowd congregates.
“We are thrilled to not only bring Idyll Hound Proper to 30Avenue but South Walton’s newest craft beer festival,” said Lance Stokes of Idyll Hound Proper. “Paired with live music by Flow Tribe and great food, all for a local cause, will make 30A Foam Fest a signature event for years to come. This is a special opportunity to try beers that you normally wouldn’t find on tap or sold in stores.”
Additional entertainment throughout the festival includes an interactive photo booth and a Steinholding competition courtesy of presenting brewery, Idyll Hounds Brewing Company. Steinholding is a traditional Bavarian contest which competitors hold a full one-liter beer stein out in front of their bodies with a straight arm parallel to the ground. The person who holds their arm out the longest is crowned the winner.
Proceeds from 30A Foam Fest will benefit Food for Thought Outreach, a local 501(c)3 organization that works to bridge the meal gap in the lives of food insecure children in Walton and Okaloosa counties and empower them to get the most out of their education. Currently, over 3,000 children are enrolled in their year-round programs and all funds raised from the event will go towards those programs and helping even more kids throughout the year.
“We love to work with local businesses and leaders in support of our programs at Food for Thought Outreach,” said Food for Thought Founder Tiffanie Nelson. “Our services are provided to over 3,000 food-insecure children across Walton & Okaloosa Counties. Events such as the 30A Foam Fest raise funds that will make an immediate impact in our community.”
