Have you ever wondered if you are looking at a photograph or a painting? That’s exactly how we feel when we look at Atlanta’s own, Brynn Casey’s artwork. This Thursday, July 8, from 4:30 – 8:00 PM, join us at our favorite shop, BECASA in 30Avenue, where you can try to figure it out for yourself and meet Brynn for yourself! (hint: no .jpeg images found here!) Brynn has been painting for years, but has just recently begun to sell her work. The gallery night at BECASA will mark a first for her, as she will be selling pieces as large as 48×48″, 40×60″, and 36×72”. Usually, her larger pieces are only available for private commissions. This evening will be a, in Brynn’s words, “dream come true!” When asked what sets this new collection apart from the rest, Brynn said, “showing my work at a location such as BECASA on 30A has been a true career goal of mine since 2015.” We feel honored to be a part of making this dream come true for her!

About the Art

When admiring Brynn’s pieces, the first word that comes to our minds is, “brave.” Her chosen colors, bold brushstrokes, and intense amount of detail emit a sense of confidence. The bravery we find in Brynn’s pieces can largely be credited to where she draws her creative inspiration. Brynn shared with us that she is inspired by artists who refuse to play it safe. “When I see them ‘go for it,’ it reminds me that it’s okay for me to, too.”

As for what will be found at the BECASA gallery night, local guests might be surprised to see that her pieces look a lot like their backyards. The subject of Brynn’s pieces for this collection are the beautiful 30A beaches. She drew from personal childhood memories frolicking our beautiful beaches to create the stunning pieces in this very collection.  Like many of us, Brynn finds inspiration in the water. There are a plethora of ways water brings inspiration, but for Brynn, she specifically admires how water can be both calm and powerful at the same time. She finds symbolism in the colors, changing tides, and the way water reflects light. You should come view her work at the gallery night to see what symbolism you find in her pieces and how a piece of art can truly ignite an emotional spark from within!

Meet the Artist & Take the Beach with You!

Only a handful of Brynn’s work will be for sale at the gallery night! Ranging from $1,500 to $5,000, there is an opportunity for guests to take a one-of-a-kind piece home. Beginning at 4:30 PM, there will be a “First Dibs” champagne toast for serious buyers to come and view pieces before the crowd. If you are interested in purchasing a piece and getting to know Brynn in a smaller, more intimate setting, we highly suggest coming to the First Dibs toast!

In total, 16 pieces will be available and are on a first come first serve basis. After the showing, any pieces left will be on display and available for purchase at BECASA until August 22, 2021.

In addition to the artwork on display, Brynn has worked with Emily Raffield, owner of BECASA, to create a selection of her favorite BECASA items. From her favorite garments, home items, and accessories, you’ll be able to see more of Brynn’s style through these hand-picked pieces. Once you meet Brynn, you might want to add a piece of her closet to your closet too! We know we will be eyeing her favorite BECASA items!

As with her artwork, you’ll notice some blue hues in Brynn’s favorite pieces. Some of her favorite items include the Drift Linen Top, the Indigo Kantha Quilt, and Palma Marina Hat. The Drift Linen Top pairs perfectly with the Palma Marina Hat for those days out by the ocean. After a day at the beach, curl up with the Kantha Quilt for a nice night in.
