Hello, 2017! Goodbye 2016! As we welcome in the New Year we can’t help but stop and reflect on the whirlwind that was 2016. We had SO many great moments, events and accomplishments that we wanted to take a minute (or more) to reminisce. And more importantly, THANK every. single. person who helped make 2016 so monumental for Proffitt PR.
1/6 Walton Area Chamber of Commerce Power of Business Luncheon: We always look forward to the Walton Area Chamber Luncheons and the January 6 Mentor Appreciation Luncheon at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa was no exception. Greg Harris, CEO at Quantum Workplace, gave a great presentation on The Anatomy of a Best Place to Work.
1/19 Florida Public Relations Association Media Panel Luncheon: We were taking serious notes at the FPRA – Northwest Florida Coast Chapter‘s Media Panel Luncheon at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club. We had the opportunity to meet reporters and journalists from Northwest Florida Daily News, 30A Radio and WJHG-TV and learn preferences, deadlines, and new ways to drive coverage for your news.
1/21 FFT Volunteering: #ProffittPR helped pack backpacks for Food For Thought Outreach Inc.! One of our company’s New Year’s resolution was to volunteer once a month for a local #nonprofit.

2/3 Century 21 Blue Marlin Event at Regatta Bay: We were thrilled to coordinate and execute one of our first client, Blue Marlin Realty Group’s recent affiliation with Century 21. On Wednesday, February 3 at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club we celebrated this MAJOR achievement for the Century 21 Fine Homes & Estates Blue Marlin Team! The event included a tri-ribbon cutting with Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce, Destin Chamber of Commerce and Walton Area Chamber of Commerce, a silent auction that raised $4,000 for the local Easter Seals chapter, live music by Jones and Company and much more!
2/9 PPR’s Jessica Judged Baytowne Mardi Gras Parade: Laissez les bon temps rouler! Proffitt PR had the pleasure of being chosen to judge The Village of Baytowne Wharf 14th Annual Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday parade along Walton Area Chamber of Commerce president, Megan Harrison at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
2/9 Smileology Miramar Beach Ribbon Cutting: Proffitt PR was smiling from ear to ear after the ribbon cutting with the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce and Destin Chamber of Commerce at Smileology’s newest location in Holiday Plaza! 2/15 Century 21 Blue Marlin donates $4,000 to the local Easter Seals chapter: Century 21 Fine Homes & Estates Blue Marlin announced that the Affiliation Celebration held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, raised a total of $4,000 for Goodwill Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast, a community-based health agency dedicated to helping children and adults with disabilities attain greater independence.
2/16 FPRA Luncheon at Osaka: The house was packed at FPRA – Northwest Florida Coast Chapter’s luncheon! Must be the great food 😉 Best part? 20% of everyone’s meal was donated to Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation as part of Osaka Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi Bar‘s Month of Giving!

This event it where we first got a glimpse at the amazing things Hannah Martin and her team do for the Special Olympics Florida – Walton County. 2/24 Osaka PCB Grand Opening: Nothing makes us happier than seeing smiles on the faces of our clients! #ProffittPR was honored to coordinate the Grand Opening and Tri-Ribbon Cutting of Osaka‘s new location at Pier Park. We are so thankful for the Bay County Chamber of Commerce, Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce, Walton Area Chamber of Commerce, Food4Kidz, Florida State University Panama City, and Beachy Beach Real Estate for working with us to make this a success for all involved. Chelsea held the fort down at the Grayton Beer Company tent. Clients Jim ‘N Nick’s Florida fed all 3,000 runners while Chi-Mar Construction served mimosas to those involved. 6/2 C21 Pre Tournament Toast: We had the great privilege of kicking off the beginning of Century 21 Blue Marlin‘s 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament! On June 2, 2016, friends, co-workers, and members of the community gathered at the Legendary Yacht Club for the announcement of the 2016 Charity Golf Tournament beneficiary! Proceeds from this year’s Pre-Tournament Toast and Charity Golf Tournament benefitted the Silver Sands School!
6/8 Marie’s Fundraiser: Coordinated by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Blues at Blue Mountain Beach was a fundraiser for our friend, client and sweet lady Marie Nasri of Marie’s Bistro. The event featured Jeff Carlisi, a founding member of the band .38 Special, and blues music by other local musicians and special guests, including Huckabee.

6/22 Ben & Jerry’s Grand Opening: Congratulations to our friends and Market Shops neighbors, Ben & Jerry’s, on their Grand Opening with dual ribbon cutting. Members of the Destin Chamber and Walton Area Chamber turned out to cut the ribbons {and eat ice cream cake}.
6/23 C21BM/PURE BAH: Century 21 Fine Homes & Estates Blue Marlin and team PURE Commercial Real Estate packed the house with over 400 people for the Destin Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event!
6/24 Habitat Home Dedication: We love a statement piece and this red front door was certainly that! We love it even more because we were behind painting it! Proffitt PR was proud to have put some sweat equity into the 40th Habitat for Humanity Walton County home during National Women Build Week. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as the keys were officially passed over to the new homeowner. Congratulations to The Ebbert Family on a well-deserved gift. We are so happy to have been a part of this project.

Thank you to the amazing community who rallied behind #ProffittPR and Ruth’s Chris Steak House Destin, FL for the Cheryl Hodges Benefit. We were proud to share that thanks to donations and an impressive silent auction we were able to raise $26K. These funds will help Cheryl and her amazing daughters, Jordan and Roberta, with medical bills and living expenses. BRAVO and thank you all for your support!
