Panama City Beach, Fla. (July 10, 2018) – On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, Back Beach Barbecue held their inaugural “Hog Bash” to celebrate their one-year anniversary and raised $2,700 for South Walton Academy.

Guests were invited to enjoy two whole hog roasts,live music by local musician, Kevin Melvin, and various giveaways. There was also hot barbecue accompanied by various sides and cold refreshments provided by local breweries, Grayton Beer Company and Idyll Hounds.

Through ticket sales and donations, the anniversary event raised a total of $2,700 for South Walton Academy, a private, non-profit inclusion school in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. The money raised will help furnish the Academy’s new portable classroom, which was recently added due to the increasing high demand for their specialized learning environment in the area. As the only school of its kind, their program is highly sought after and desired in the community.

Event sponsors and donors included Blackwater Tours, Buddy’s Seafood Market, Grayton Beer Company, Idyll Hounds Brewing Company, Restaurant Paradis, Vue on 30a, and artists Marty Schmidt and Tina Torralva Spicer. Each of the sponsors provided food, refreshments, and various raffle prizes to be announced out during the event. Sponsors, Tina and Mike Spicer, of Spicer Design and Build, even ​​won the bid on the Grand Prize package including a gift certificate to Restaurant Paradis, a gift basket from Back Beach Barbecue, gift certificate from Buddy’s Seafood Market, gift card to the Vue on 30a, and a paddle tour with Backwater Tours.
